  ABOUT CORS OTTAWA  

The Canadian Operational Research Society is a professional association of people interested in applying operational research in Canada. We define operational research broadly to include interests in quantitative modelling, optimization, computer modelling, systems thinking, and similar areas.

Encouraged by Debbie Blakeney (Defence Scientist, Department of National Defence - Ottawa), a team of three researchers - the core of Modeling and Optimization team of Bank of America, Ottawa - namely Hasan Mytkolli, Asaf Shupo and Dragos Calitoiu decided in January 2009 to revitalize the Ottawa section of Canadian Operational Research Society. We propose to organize in 2009 four meetings (Research Colloquiums followed by discussions related to the future of the section) in March, May, September and November.

The Ottawa Section has members from many industries, including: government, manufacturing, banking, software development, and education. Every year the efforts are made to arrange the speakers from the different field who are applying the operation research methods.
